Dr Rebecca Haward



   Dr Rebecca Haward is an Ophthalmologist who completed her medical degree at Monash University, graduating with honours. She then undertook her specialist training through the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne, before completing further training in Medical Retina and Uveitis (eye inflammation) at Bristol Eye Hospital in the United Kingdom.

   Dr Haward performs cataract surgery in both public and private hospitals. She enjoys working in her specialty areas, with particular interest in the care of macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and vein occlusions. She is also proficient in managing a wide range of general ophthalmic conditions including glaucoma, floaters, blepharitis and dry eye.

   In addition to private practice, Dr Haward has a position at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. There she works in the Eye Emergency Department, and in clinics. She is actively involved in education and training, and the supervision of trainee ophthalmologists.

   Collaboration with all of her patients’ healthcare practitioners is important to Dr Haward, ensuring they are looked after using a team approach. She prides herself in providing excellent explanations to patients regarding their eye health and treatment, and is happy to answer questions.

  Outside of work Dr Haward enjoys spending time with her young family, and eating lots of good food.


  She can speak Greek.
