Our partnering ophthalmologist A/Prof George Kong is a cataract surgeon and glaucoma subspecialist. He specialises in high-quality cataract surgery including options for presbyopia correction. He is an expert in glaucoma diagnosis and in the full range of glaucoma treatments including SLT laser, Trabeculectomy, Tube shunt operation, and the use of the latest technologies such as Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (iStent, XEN stent, Preserflo). He has won prestigious international awards for his glaucoma surgical techniques. He is also the inventor of the Melbourne Rapid Fields (MRF), a revolutionary cloud-based vision and visual field testing system for glaucoma assessment.

Our partner doctors are exceptional clinicians, teachers, and researchers and have public positions in major health networks in Melbourne, including the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Monash Health, and Eastern Health (Box Hill/Lillydale). Therefore we can provide our community with high-quality and affordable eye surgery. We also perform operations in Waverley Private Hospital, Manningham Day Surgery Centre, and Windsor Private Hospital.

We have branches in Box Hill (Box Hill Cataract & Laser Centre) located in the Box Hill shopping district and in Yarra Ranges (Monbulk Branch).

Our clinic is equipped with the latest and best diagnostic ophthalmic equipment for all aspects of eye care, including Zeiss Cirrus 5000 OCT, latest Humphrey Field Analyzer, latest Zeiss corneal/A-scan biometer (for cataract surgery) and Pentacam scan. We have in clinic YAG/SLT laser, retinal laser and cyclodiode laser. We can also perform most small procedures in the clinic with our comfortable procedure room.

GLAUCOMA CARE

We provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment care for glaucoma, using the world's best diagnostic equipment to inform our decision making.

We are specialists in the full spectrum of glaucoma treatment, from medication, SLT laser to complex procedures such as Trabeculectomy, trabeculectomy revision, Tube shunt operations, Minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries and cyclodiode laser.

A/Prof George Kong is an expert in complex glaucoma operations as well as new minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS).

What is MIGS Surgery?

MACULA CARE

We provide comprehensive care of all conditions affecting the macula and retina. These include treatments for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusions.

EYELID SURGERY

We provide treatment of conditions of the eyelid including surgical correction of ectropion, entropion, trichiasis, ptosis surgery and surgical removal of lesions of the eyelid.

URGENT CARE

Our clinic is conveniently situated within 8 minutes drive from Boxhill Hospital, Wantirna Hospital, Monash Hospital and Waverley Private Hospital. There is public transport right outside our door step. Our doctors are consultant eye specialists in both Eastern Health and Monash Health. We have extended hour evening clinics and Saturday clinics. Therefore our doctors are able to provide you with urgent care of your eye condition when required.

PEDIATRIC CARE, DRY EYES &
GENERAL OPHTHALMOLOGY

Our specialists have special training the management of general paediatric eye conditions including treatment of amblyopia, paediatric glaucoma and prevention of childhood myopia.
